OneBookAZ on Sun Sounds
OneBookAZ is an exciting program that brings communities together through literature. Each year, beginning in April, the program encourages communities across the state to read the same book, and participate in discussion and programs centered around that book.
Sun Sounds listeners can participate in OneBookAZ too! Alberto Rios, author of this year's selection, Capirotada: A Nogales Memoir joins volunteer reader Joyce Totlis on April 13 for an in-studio interview on Bookworld at 9pm.
Following the interview, listen to Capirotada: A Nogales Memoir beginning Tuesday, April 14 on Bookworld at 9pm, read by Totlis. A rebroadcast of Totlis' interview with Rios will be rebroadcast following the book reading.
"Capirotada, Mexican bread pudding, is a mysterious mixture of prunes, peanuts, white bread, raisins, milk, quesadilla cheese, butter, cinnamon and cloves, Old World sugar--all this," writes Alberto Ríos, "and things people will not tell you."
