17th Annual Made In the Shade Beer Festival

Escape the summer heat while you sample craft beers in the cool mountains of Flagstaff! The 17th Annual “Made in the Shade” Beer Festival will be held June 20th, 2009, from 1 pm to 5pm at the Coconino County Fairgrounds, exit 337 off I- 17. Music until 6pm.

This year’s festival features live music by The Mike Reeves Band, a Silent Auction of crafts by local artisans, food vendors, and great beer from craft brewers like Big Sky Brewing, Gordon Biersch, Breckenridge, Lagunitas, Reaper Ale, Coronado Brewing and Rock Bottom Brewery.

Purchase discounted tickets at AZBeer.com. General admission ticket price ($40) includes a souvenir sampling mug and 24 sampling tickets to exchange for beer samples. Tickets are $50 at the gate. VIP tickets ($80) include early entry at 12pm, sampling mug, 24 beer sample tickets, private VIP area with seating, snacks, VIP restrooms, wine sampling, and a belly dance show at 1:50pm followed by lessons. VIP tickets are $90 at the gate. Massage chairs. Designated Driver tickets are $20, available at the gate only.

Free parking, no pets and no children. All attendees must be 21 and have ID. Beer sampling ends at 5pm but the music continues until 6pm.

All beer is donated by the brewers, and proceeds benefit Sun Sounds of Arizona, sunsounds.org, a reading service for people who can’t read printed material due to a disability.
